Multicolor airbrush systems
The main problem with trying to do fast
airbrushing is changing the colors. Normally, you have an attached bottle or a
cup with the color in it.
To change the color you have to remove the cup, flush the airbrush with some
sort of cleaner or solvent, then attach a new color.
If you have customers waiting or watching, you need to change color much faster
than that.
I have solved this problem in several ways described on this page.

Here is a multicolor system which delivers a separate color to each
airbrush. The air is supplied to a copper gang like a cows udder
to which the air hoses are attached. Two six foot long tubes made from
automobile windshield washer hose supplies color and air to each airbrush
This system will only work with ink or dye color. You cannot
use it with pigment based color.
The granules
of pigment settle in the tubes, clogging the system.
Here's my second method for fast color change. This airbrush operates with four
color cartridges.
Each cartridge is a different color. If the color clogs, you can squeeze the
cartridge. You can use
any kind of paint in it, so long as you can clean the airbrush when you're done.
Each of the three other valves have to closed while using one color.
It is important to allow air back into each color when you finish using it.
Using any one color creates a negative pressure (suction) in that color
which will draw any other color into it
if that valve is left even slightly open.
Good for face paint, T shirt createx, and ink.
Here's another way to get four colors into one airbrush: Each
color has a separate feeder hose,
with a small on/off valve located as close to the airbrush as possible. It is
great for T shirts and hats.
